WORKOUTS I LOVED THIS MONTH
I feel like a broken record about now talking about my knee, me knee, my knee...I’m a lot better - I’m still not 100% but a lot better. I have days (and sometimes even a week) where I am goodreal good - like I even forgetten that anything even happened to my knee but with the weather changing and then we had a few days of rain - they both affected me. On one of my last visits to the physical therapist I expressed that I was starting to feel a little discouraged (again) and he pulled out a piece of paper and asked me what my goals were and what my activity was like currently (including my PT exercises). My top 6 goals are to be able to run again, jump agian, do weighted squats, increase my stamina and endurance and to be able to do a ToneHouse class. He wrote down the exercises that I am currently doing (which I need to do more often) and then added on more chalenging exercises that would help me build, strengthen and reach my goals. He also encouraged me to try more classes (and modify if necessary). I have now been to 4 other kinds of classes since I last wrote - Kore, Epic Hybrid Training, BFX and Shadowbox - all of which I am proud of. The thing is I can’t take back what happened and if you think about it it could all be worse than it is. I just have to think of new ways to adjust to everything that is going on and do my PT exercises. So I intend to do everything on the list above - everything! When it starts to get a little old or if I start feeling bad again I will sit down with my physical therapist and get another game plan going. Another thing I intend to do is practice more patience - a lot more patience, which I will need. Since writing this my appendix ruptured. So the same effort I will put into strengthening my knee I will apply to my recovery. Patience!!!
