Splurge
Didn’t treat myself nearly as much as I usually do or wanted to do this month but...
1. Veggie Leather Van Slip-Ons - Fall Leaf - Okay no judgement. Yes, another pair of Vans. Get over it! This color though??? What??? Kinda fabulous right. The moment I saw them I started envisioning them with outfits that I have and don’t have. I truly had a moment in the store (Oh and by the by & Other Stories may be my new favorite store!). On top of the fabulous color the upper portion of these slip-ons are made out of full grain veggie leaher. I am so ready for Fall!!!
2. The SPRI Xerball® Medicine Ball - 10lbs - So you may be like “what kinda Splurge is this?” but if you could have seen me in the store while I was getting this bad buy you would have questioned why I was cheesing so damn hard. I’ve started training some of my clients in the park more and more. I have tons of bands and just felt like I needed to up my game just a lil bit if I am going to be training people in the park so...One of my favorite exercises is Ball Slams - such a great explosive full body exercise and who doesn’t like to slam shit every now and then. I took the ball out of my backpack during a session at the park with one of my clients and all she could say is “seriously?” My response “oh yeah...very serious”. Picked it up and tossed it to her “now get to slamming”.
3. S-10 Training - The fact that I am a trainer myself you would think “why does you need a trainer?” Yes, I could go the gym and do my own thing but I like the push a trainer provides. I’ve been training with Mark Luehring at S-10 Training since last December. After I tore my meniscus I obviously couldn’t work out so I had to put my session on hiatus. This month though I got the okay and I started back up with Mark. I am still limited at what I can do but it just feels good to be moving again. I had Mark talk with my PT so that he can try and incorporate some of my PT exercises and to also just mindful of my movement pattern. I played with the idea of not signing up for more sessions just yet for several reason but...I am so glad that I decided to invest in myself!!!
4. Women’s Nike® Internationalist Mid Sneakers - Again, no judgement! Yes, 2 pairs of sneakers in one month. These were not an intentional purchase though I have to admit. I decided this year I was gonna buy a bikini bottom. I have plenty of bikini tops and I just mix and match them with these 2 swim skirts I have. I haven’t worn a bikini bottom since I was like 10 yrs old - I can admit it I have issues with my butt sometimes. Anyway, I ordered this bikini bottom from J.Crew and...I just couldn’t see me actually wearing it (I tried) so I went into the store to get a refund and then I saw these and...they had to be mine - like had to be mine! What really attracted me to them was the mix of textures - the white leather heel, the grey leather swoosh, the white mesh body and the off white suede accents. These bad boys made their debut in the ‘82 New York Marathon. I am soooooo glad J.Crew decided to revive them.
