Splurge
Still on that budget. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find freelance work again. This time around though I decided not to focus on how long I was out of work, the fact that things might be tight and promised not approach anything coming from a place of lack. Decided I would just BE - aware of my situation but just BE and place my focus on the positive as a opposed to the negative or again not coming at it from a place of lack. Surprisingly at times money came to me and...I didn’t go crazy (I’m a good steward of my money - or at least I try to be) but here it goes. 2 responsible purchases and 2 splurge - awwwww yeah!!!
1. Stila - Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner - I am so late to the game with the whole cat eye thing. I think it just intimadates the hell out of me - trying to keep a steady hand and liquid eyeliner isn’t as forgiving as a eyeliner pencil so I have stayed away. I walked into Sephora on a mission but once I saw all the different brands and what they all promised, oh man, confusion set in. All I know is that I wanted something that was going to go on easy. I found a someone and told them just that “I want a liquid eyeliner that is easy to use” and also asked if they could give me a quick tutorial on how to do a cat eye. I wish I could remember the name of young woman who helped me - so paitent, full of good advice and seemed really talented. She recommended the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner - said it was easy to use (SOLD!!!) even for the novice, went from a great defined thin line to a bold line (which is good for the cat eye) and it won’t smudge. She then showed me how to do the cat eye on one eye and then had me try it on the other eye. Granted we ended up having to use makeup remover to get rid of my stab at the cat eye but...intimated? no more!!!
2. Madewell - Denim boyshorts - Okay I swore these bad boys were on sale and then...I mean I had the opportunity to tell the cashier “no I don’t want them if they aren’t on sale” but did I do that? NO! After having tried them on oooohhhhhh I just had to have them - I take that back I didn’t have “to have them” I just REALLY wanted them. After not satisfying my dreams of finding the perfect winter white outfit I’ve decided that any chance I get to wear white this summer...I’m gonna do it! These shorts aren’t too short or too long - just the right length to give some good leg. Also the shorts have a touch of hand distressed rip and repair details - tres cute! I have to get the waist nipped in a bit but I am ready to make this white on white action happen - next splurge a cute white top.
3. Fresh Sugar Rose Shine Lip Treatment - So I’m not gonna lie and it may sound silly but lipgloss makes me feel happy - really happy! I think that there are a few things makeup wise that you can put on and it just does something for you instantly. Lipgloss and mascara - do that for me. Went into Sephora to get a liquid eyeliner and...walked out with this as well. I put a bit on a lil brush and then applied to my lips and first thing I noticed right off the bat was the consistency - because the description said it was a “high shine treatment” for some reason I assumed that it might be thick and goopy (is that a word?) but nooooooooo - not at all. Sold!!! Second thing I noticed after I put it on immediately as I exited the store was how long it lasted and kept my lips moisturized. So tempted to go back and get another shade but...
4. Nike Air Huarache - Okay I already expressed my obession with white on white so...no words. I will rocking these all summer - keeping the Mr Clean Magic Erasers on roation so that these bad boys stay what???
