Splurge
Didn’t treat myself much this month because I knew I had quite a few plans that would involve me spending money so... decided to lay low. One of my plans this month was my trip to Los Angeles with Women’s Health, where they would name The Next Fitness Star. I was lucky enough to extend the trip into a mini vacay but knew money would be tight. Before leaving for the trip we were told that our photo shoot outfit would option for us to wear 1 or both of the days that we were shooting television shows. Sure I could have worn the outfit both days but...I’m not a big fitness outfit person at all. I sweat entirely too much for all of that. I keep it very simple and very basic - black shorts (I might have like 2 pairs of printed shorts and pants??? I own one pair of black leggings) and my bra tops is where I take a stab at being stylish. My only dilemma with purchasing anything was...cost - everything now a days is so expensive. I’m not going to debate on whether they should be or not but if you don’t have the money...you don’t have the money...point blank. So know its want vs need. A client of mine impressed on me that this opportunity (Women’s Health Next Fitness Star competition) comes along once so “invest in yourself!!!”. She suggested Under Armour and...WOW!!! I know their ad campaigns...LOVE!!! But have I ever step foot into one of their stores? Nope! So surprised not by the quality or by how stylish their clothes are but more so by the price range. Yes, there were some items that were on the high end but I was able to find plenty that were in my price range without having to sacrifice on quality or style. Okay, I still played it safe with the pants - yes, they are black legging but they have a subtle camo print (at least thats what it looks like to me) on them. The top though - the colors were fun and more than a few people commented on how great my boobs looked - a lil weird but I’ll take it. Going back to their campaign - Unlike Any - this alone kinda got me hyped. From the huge pic of Misty Copeland in the dressing room with me to looking at Natasha Hastings online - what??? Women athletes...achieving so much greatness - what??? Sold!!! Check out what I got, my inspiration and look at the price. Again...what???
