Q&A

I started following you in Instagram a while ago. I think Instagram gives you this lil peep hole into people lives. I don’t know you but I picture you as a very energetic and positive person. How would people who actually know you describe you?
Right on!
I’m such a vibrant and energetic person, I love bringing joy and positive vibes into peoples lives. I love a good laugh, so you can definitely count on me being a jokester at times!
I LOVE all the positive thoughts you share on Instagram. What do you do to stay positive?
Totally, I rely a lot on my faith and confidence! When negativity trickles into my life I try and knock it out by changing gears, and refocusing (whether that involves working out or just heading to church), I always make sure my mindset is in the right place.
How long have you been working out?
This is actually a pretty cool question because I started as a dancer when I was a toddler doing African Dance (a cardio class in itself!) I continued dance through high school, and once I graduated I started working at Equinox. I really got into the scheme of things and it brought out the beast!
How does working out add to your life?
I’ve suffered from depression, so for me it gives me a place to channel any negative energy. It keeps me sane and focus, and of course in shape.
OK I need to be schooled now. Inversions? So many questions. What is it?
You know I’m actually not a huge pro on inversions, I kind of started trying them on my own. Inversions are most often really hard yoga poses that require one to release fear and anxiety. A lot of the poses are in positions that most people are afraid of, putting weight onto your hands or your forearms is quite scary!
Are you extremely hypermobile and just realized one day that you can bend your body the way you do? Or was it a slow progression?
Yeah it was definitely a progression for me, as a dancer I had a lot more mobility. As I started doing strength training I sort of lost it, because I’d practically bounce after workouts without stretching. Right now I’m working my way back to being super flexible.
How does it make you feel?
So scary! But afterwards you feel so accomplished because that ish is hard!
And last question - where is the craziest place you have done an inversion?
Hmmm...that’s a good one. I’ve done it on a date before believe it or not. They totally put me on the spot!
Random Question:
Who doesnt want to be superhero??? What would your superhero name be and what would your super power be?
Heck yeah!!! I’m totally into that one. I don’t know what I’d call myself but I’ve always had a thing for Wonder Woman, she’s so bomb! I mean like, I’m totally a modern day Wonder Woman.
I resolve to move by...
I resolve to move through dance and fitness. As long as my mind is just as equipped to do the job as my body is.
